Insider Spotlight
The consumer electronics company unveiled its latest SQD Mini LED platform, designed to deliver clearer images, richer colors, and more immersive viewing across a range of content categories.
The company said the new platform reflects a broader shift in the industry, where product leadership is increasingly measured not only by technical specifications but also by how effectively those technologies improve everyday viewing experiences.
Why it matters
Premium TV buyers are becoming more selective as display technologies mature. Manufacturers are under pressure to differentiate products through visible performance improvements rather than incremental specification upgrades.
TCL is positioning its SQD Mini LED platform as a response to that trend.
At the center of the platform are three key technologies. Precise Dimming enhances light control across the display through upgraded backlight design, micro lens technology, and image-processing algorithms.
According to the company, the result is improved picture stability and clarity during sports, gaming, and movie viewing.
The details
TCL’s Super QLED technology focuses on expanding color gamut, improving color purity, and optimizing blue light energy to deliver more accurate and consistent color reproduction.
Meanwhile, its Ultra Color Filter technology is designed to reduce color impurities and improve tonal transitions, creating greater image depth and realism.
Combined, the technologies aim to improve contrast, motion sharpness, and overall image quality, helping TCL compete more aggressively in the premium display segment.
The company also underscored the role of TCL CSOT, its display technology arm, in supporting long-term innovation through manufacturing capabilities, research investments, and display development.
By the numbers
According to Omdia data cited by TCL, the company ranked No. 1 globally in shipment market share for 75-inch-and-above TV sets in 2025, No. 1 in global Mini LED TV shipment market share in 2025, and No. 1 in global Google TV shipments from 2021 through 2025.
