Philippine Airlines (PAL) is seeking to capture growing demand for regional leisure travel by making two popular East Asian destinations more affordable for Filipino passengers, particularly those planning year-end holidays and overseas trips in 2027.

The flag carrier rolled out a 24-hour online flash sale on Oct. 14, offering 50 percent off base fares for flights from Manila to Hong Kong and Taipei.

The promotion runs from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Philippine time, exclusively through PAL's website and mobile application.

Passengers must use the promotional code HKGTPE50OFF when booking eligible flights.

From Hong Kong’s iconic skyline, vibrant shopping districts and dining scene to Taipei’s bustling night markets and cultural attractions, these visa-free destinations offer Filipino travelers exciting options for year-end holidays, long weekends and getaways in 2027.

Short overseas vacations

The discounted fares come as airlines seek to capitalize on increasing holiday travel demand, with price-sensitive Filipino travelers looking for opportunities to reduce the cost of international trips.

Hong Kong and Taipei are attractive regional destinations because of their accessibility, relatively short travel distances and visa-free entry arrangements for eligible Philippine passport holders.

Both destinations also appeal to travelers planning shorter overseas vacations rather than longer, more expensive international journeys.

Hong Kong offers shopping districts, dining establishments and urban attractions, while Taipei draws visitors through its night markets, cultural destinations and contemporary tourism offerings.
