Lalamove partner drivers in Metro Manila have started receiving their P5,000 government cash assistance as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues its special payout activity for transport network company (TNC) drivers in Las Piñas City.

On May 19, the first day of distribution, more than 10,000 eligible Lalamove partner drivers received their cash assistance at The Tent along Gatchalian Drive. The three-day payout activity aims to distribute aid to over 30,000 eligible drivers by May 21.

The cash assistance forms part of DSWD’s ongoing Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program for TNC drivers who have yet to receive government support.

To prepare for the large-scale payout, Lalamove coordinated closely with DSWD weeks before the activity. The company helped align partner-driver information, disseminate schedule advisories, and prepare communication materials to guide drivers on requirements and assigned schedules, Lalamove said in a statement.

Onsite support

At the venue, Lalamove established help desks and assistance booths to support partner drivers throughout the verification and payout process. Onsite personnel were deployed to assist with crowd management, inquiries, and queue coordination.

The company also worked with local government units, traffic enforcement teams, the Philippine National Police, venue personnel, and on-site medics to help maintain order and ensure the safety of attendees during the payout activity.

Service booths from Pag-IBIG, Hyundai, and GCash were also made available to address other partner-driver concerns beyond the cash assistance distribution.

Drivers received notifications regarding their assigned schedules through official Lalamove communication channels, including the driver app, SMS advisories, and the Liga ng Mga Bossing Facebook page.

Close coordination

“We are grateful to the DSWD for staying true to their ‘Walang Maiiwan’ directive and making sure this vital government support reaches our partner drivers,” said Djon Nacario, managing director of Lalamove Philippines.

“Lalamove has been coordinating closely with DSWD since March. Our priority is to ensure a smooth, orderly, safe, and efficient experience onsite, and to make sure our driver community can access their assistance with ease and confidence,” he added.

The payout activity follows similar company-specific distributions conducted by DSWD for drivers from other participating TNCs. Under the setup, the government oversees the official cash aid distribution, while participating companies handle communications, venue coordination, and onsite assistance for their respective driver communities.

Lalamove said partner drivers who missed their schedules may proceed to the company’s help desk at the venue or monitor official channels for further announcements.
