Japan’s Zeroboard, PEZA join forces for ecozone sustainability in PH

Zeroboard Inc., a Tokyo-based sustainability solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to advance decarbonization efforts in the country’s special economic zones.

The collaboration will enable PEZA-registered, export-oriented companies to better measure, visualize, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions using Zeroboard’s cloud-based platform.

Emissions tracking, training programs

The system supports compliance with international standards such as CDP, SBT, and ISSB, paving the way for more sustainable industrial operations in the Philippines.

Under the MOU, key initiatives include GHG emissions tracking, joint green transformation (GX) training programs, and the development of a “Green SEZ” certification framework. The agreement also outlines plans for selecting model industrial zones for pilot implementation.

Expanding footprint in SE Asia

Currently serving over 13,000 clients globally, Zeroboard aims to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia through this strategic partnership.

The initiative is expected to help bolster the Philippines’ net-zero targets while building a stronger green supply chain and fostering a regional ecosystem of GX solution providers.

PEZA and Zeroboard’s alliance positions the Philippines as a leader in green innovation within ASEAN, offering a replicable model for sustainable economic zone management across the region. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
