Insider Spotlight

  • Jollibee Group is reinforcing a global food safety and quality framework as it expands across 33 countries
  • The Philippines now serves as the benchmark market after the full implementation of the company's quality management systems
  • Food safety operations achieve 98 to 100 percent alignment with global standards where systems have been deployed

Jollibee Group is strengthening its food safety and quality systems as it expands globally, positioning operational discipline as a key driver of consumer trust, brand protection, and long-term growth.

Ahead of World Food Safety Day on June 7, the company said all brands and markets are guided by a single, globally governed Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) framework designed to maintain consistent standards across its network of more than 10,000 stores and cafés worldwide.

The framework forms part of the company's broader strategy to ensure expansion does not come at the expense of product integrity, customer confidence, or franchise value.

The big picture

“For us, spreading joy through superior taste begins with trust,” Jollibee Group CEO and global president Ernesto Tanmantiong said.

“That trust is built on food that is safe, consistent, and made with care. As we grow globally, we raise our standards, so every meal delivers not just great taste, but the confidence our customers expect wherever they are.”

The company embeds food safety controls throughout its value chain, from suppliers and product development to restaurant operations and employee training.

According to a company release, these measures are designed to ensure consistent execution across markets while minimizing operational risks as the business scales globally.

Why it matters

The company has completed the full implementation of its quality management systems in the Philippines, which now serves as the benchmark for international markets adopting the same framework.

Centralized digital platforms, including OneQMGateway and Veeva Vault QualityOne, provide real-time monitoring of food safety performance across brands and countries, allowing teams to identify risks early and strengthen compliance.

“These systems are more than just compliance; they’re about protecting what matters most,” Jollibee Group global head of quality management Wally Mateo said.

Bottom line

Jollibee said its food safety systems consistently achieve 98 to 100 percent alignment with global standards where implemented, supporting its goal of delivering safe, consistent products while enabling sustainable long-term expansion. — Princess Daisy C. Ominga |Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
