The homegrown brand marked its 40th anniversary on Sept. 30, highlighting its expansion from a single flat iron into hundreds of appliance models sold through more than 2,500 outlets nationwide.
Hanabishi's four-decade expansion reflects its efforts to remain competitive in the Philippine appliance market by broadening its offerings and responding to consumer demand.
Its portfolio now includes electric fans, kitchen appliances, televisions, chest freezers, and air conditioners, serving households and businesses seeking practical appliances.
Intelligent consumers
Consumer purchasing decisions are becoming more research-driven, prompting appliance companies to pay closer attention to product quality, pricing, customer feedback, and emerging lifestyle trends.
“Consumers now are very intelligent. They research online, compare prices, see different brands, hear stories from friends, and look up reviews. This shift has also affected how Hanabishi develops products. We pay closer attention to consumer research and emerging lifestyle trends,” Hanabishi vice president for operations Candice Ong-Ang said in a press statement
Digital retail presence
Hanabishi's growth strategy also relies on its nationwide dealer network and digital retail presence.
The company sells products through physical outlets, LazMall, ShopeeMall, TikTok Shop, and its official e-commerce platform, providing customers with multiple purchasing channels.
During its anniversary celebration, Hanabishi recognized longstanding dealer relationships through its Pioneer Kapartner, Pillar Kapartner, and Pulse Kapartner awards, acknowledging partnerships that have supported its operations and marketing activities.
Community programs
The company continues to support community programs, including its 14-year partnership with GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Its appliance donations have supported disaster-affected communities and classrooms established through the foundation's school-building initiatives.
