Google has launched Gemini Storybook, a new feature within the Gemini app that allows parents and children to turn simple prompts, drawings, or photos into personalized, interactive storybooks powered by generative AI.

The tool enables users to create 10-page storybooks complete with unique imagery and optional audio narration.

By combining generative AI with child-centered storytelling, Google aims to make storytime more accessible, immersive, and developmentally supportive for families around the world.

“Gemini Storybook goes beyond entertainment. It offers parents a creative, low-effort way to support their child’s growth—whether that’s helping reinforce a lesson or work through a tough emotion,” Google said in a statement.

Using the app, families can upload photos, artwork, or write short text prompts that the AI transforms into a full narrative experience. From turning a toddler’s doodle into a space adventure to using a stuffed animal as a character in a story about kindness, the Storybook feature helps bring family memories and lessons to life.

One of the standout features of Gemini Storybook is its multilingual support, with stories available in over 45 languages, making it especially useful for bilingual or multilingual households and children learning a second language.

Gemini Storybook is now live on the Gemini app, with a user-friendly interface designed to be accessible to users of all ages. Parents and kids can co-create their own books in just a few steps—no technical skills required.

The launch underscores Google's push to integrate AI tools into everyday family life, while emphasizing creativity, inclusivity, and educational value. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
