With midyear shopping festivals in full swing across Southeast Asia, the upcoming 7.7 sale offers shoppers the perfect opportunity to pick up the "fit check" pieces they have been eyeing. But putting together an aesthetic look takes more than chasing discounts—it requires a smart shopping strategy to find quality pieces at reasonable prices.

Quality doesn't have to come at a high price. Finding clothes that look great and last longer is all about shopping smart, which is also better for the planet.

A new wardrobe staple could be just a search, snap, or circle away with Google serving as a digital shopping companion.

  • Plan a shopping strategy with AI Mode

Planning a 7.7 shopping haul across multiple e-commerce platforms can quickly become overwhelming. AI Mode in Google Search helps simplify the process by answering highly specific, multi-layered shopping questions.

Instead of opening dozens of browser tabs to compare styles, shoppers can ask AI Mode questions such as: "Where can I find a cropped utility jacket available for delivery in Metro Manila, and which highly rated local stores sell it?"

AI Mode provides direct links, product suggestions, and store information to help narrow the options.

  • Compare prices with Google Lens

When browsing fashion items during major sale events, it can be difficult to determine whether a discount is truly the best deal available.

Google Lens serves as an instant price-comparison tool. By opening the Google app, tapping the Lens icon, and taking a photo or uploading a screenshot of an item, shoppers can search for visually similar products across the web.

Lens allows users to compare prices, check stock availability, and ensure they are getting the best value.

  • See it, circle it, and shop it with Circle to Search

Fashion inspiration can come from anywhere—social media feeds, creator lookbooks, or videos.

With Circle to Search on supported Android devices, shoppers can instantly look up clothing items simply by circling or tapping them on their screen.

Google Search then displays matching products and online stores where the items are available for purchase.

Shoppers can also ask follow-up questions, such as "What are similar options with an oversized fit?" to discover styles that better match their preferences.

  • Bring the fitting room home with Virtual Try-On

Virtual Try-On transforms a smartphone into a digital fitting room, helping shoppers make more confident purchasing decisions during the 7.7 sale.

When shoppers find an eligible clothing item in Google Search, they can tap "Try it on." They may select a model that closely matches their body type or upload their own photo.

The AI-powered feature then visualizes how the garment may drape and fit before they complete a purchase.

  • Shop for longevity

A successful 7.7 fit check isn't just about following the latest trend—it's about investing in clothes that will remain wardrobe staples for years.

Fast-fashion purchases often result in lower-quality garments that wear out quickly, contributing to textile waste. Instead, shoppers can use Google Search to prioritize quality over quantity.

When they find a piece they like, they can research the details by using Google Lens to check the fabric composition or look up a brand's manufacturing practices. They can also ask questions such as, "Is this brand certified for organic cotton?" or "Which local fashion brands use ethical manufacturing?"

Doing a little extra research can help shoppers build a timeless wardrobe while supporting brands that value sustainability and responsible production. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
