foodpanda Philippines is strengthening its position in the country’s fast-growing e-grocery market by expanding its dedicated dark-store network, a move aimed at improving fulfillment efficiency and widening access to round-the-clock grocery delivery in densely populated communities.

The company recently added new 24/7 pandamart fulfillment hubs in Calamba, Laguna and Caloocan City, bringing its nationwide network to 23 operational facilities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The expansion reflects foodpanda’s strategy of investing in hyper-local infrastructure to shorten delivery times while improving supply chain efficiency.

Why it matters

The Philippine quick-commerce (Q-commerce) segment has become increasingly competitive as digital grocery demand grows and consumers seek faster, more convenient access to everyday essentials.

Dedicated fulfillment hubs allow operators to process orders independently of traditional retail stores, helping improve inventory management and delivery performance.

Pandamart operates as a network of dark stores that use hyper-local inventory planning, enabling the platform to tailor stock keeping units (SKUs) to neighborhood purchasing patterns.

According to foodpanda, customers can typically receive orders within 25 to 35 minutes through the service.

“This marks another milestone for us as we continue to adapt to our customers’ changing needs. Every new pandamart brings us closer to our goal of providing Filipinos with a more affordable, convenient, and accessible way to shop for groceries online,” foodpanda Philippines director of Q-Commerce Joseph Wijesekara said.

The big picture

The expanded pandamart footprint now spans Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Pampanga, Benguet, Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Davao, along with micro-hubs serving eastern Metro Manila and the Rizal growth corridor.

The broader network enables the company to serve more urban neighborhoods while supporting its hyper-local delivery model.

Beyond improving logistics, foodpanda said each new fulfillment hub creates employment opportunities for warehouse personnel, increases earning opportunities for freelance delivery partners, and provides additional direct-to-consumer distribution channels for local fast-moving consumer goods suppliers and small and medium-sized enterprises.

What’s next

To coincide with the new hubs, foodpanda is offering up to 50 percent discounts for first-time pandamart customers at participating stores as it seeks to encourage trial and expand adoption of its grocery delivery platform. —Ramon C. Nocon | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
