Two decades after founding the PLDT Educational Fund, media heir and PLDT chief operations officer Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr. chose to mark a special new milestone on his birthday—doubling the fund allocated for children with special needs.
“Birthdays are the best time for giving. Yan Ang Pusong PLDT,” Jimenez said in a message through the PLDT-Smart Foundation.
Jimenez, whose father Menardo Jimenez Sr. is part of one of the three controlling families of GMA Network, established the PLDT Educational Fund over 20 years ago to help children of PLDT employees get a scholarship.
It has since expanded its purpose.
“A few years ago, they started a fund for special needs children,” Jimenez, who celebrated his birthday a few days ago, said in his message.
“To celebrate my birthday this year, I am doubling the fund allocated for special needs education,” he added.
Those willing to join in this important cause can send donations via Maya (the QR code is shown below) or through the PLDT-Smart Foundation Inc. bank account at BDO (Account No: 005310013882).
The foundation also issues receipts; donors can get in touch via foundation@pldt.com.ph.
