Bankers Nestor Tan, Fabian Dee reelected to lead BancNet through 2026

BancNet Inc. has retained its top leadership team, reelecting Nestor V. Tan as Chairman of the Board and Fabian S. Dee as President during its organizational meeting following the annual stockholders’ election held June 19.

Tan is president and CEO of BDO Unibank, while Dee serves as president and CEO of Metrobank.

Their reelection comes as BancNet reported a strong operational and financial performance in 2024. In a briefing to stockholders, Dee cited ongoing investments in digital infrastructure and operational resilience as core to BancNet’s strategy.

“We made significant strides in bolstering our digital resilience through enhancements to infrastructure, security, and disaster preparedness. A core element of enhancing resilience was modernizing our primary data center for increased capacity and availability,” Dee said.

He added that BancNet had implemented strategic upgrades to handle rising transaction volumes while maintaining service reliability.

On the financial front, BancNet reported a 10-percent increase in total assets to P1.88 billion and a 6-percent rise in total equity to P1.24 billion, driven by a net income of P90.63 million.

Also elected during the stockholders’ meeting were 16 directors from major Philippine banks, including RCBC president Reginaldo B. Cariaso, who was subsequently named treasurer.

The board also appointed members of the operations committee, which is tasked with translating policy into day-to-day execution. Key appointees came from institutions including the Bank of the Philippine Islands, the Philippine National Bank, Union Bank of the Philippines, and Security Bank.

A full slate of company officers was named to oversee operations, risk, compliance, technology, and administration.
