Insider Spotlight
ASUS introduced the ASUS ExpertBook P5 G2 and ExpertBook P3 G2 in the Philippines, expanding its commercial PC portfolio with AMD Ryzen AI-powered laptops aimed at executives, hybrid employees, digital nomads, and small businesses.
Why it matters
The Philippine enterprise laptop market is becoming more competitive as brands race to integrate on-device AI capabilities into mainstream business hardware. ASUS is betting that enterprise buyers are moving beyond raw processing power and prioritizing AI-assisted productivity, stronger security, and long-term device reliability.
The higher-tier ExpertBook P5 G2 is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX processor with 55 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) TOPS and qualifies as a Copilot+ PC, enabling Microsoft AI features such as real-time translation and workflow assistance.
The device also supports up to 96GB DDR5 memory and dual-SSD storage configurations reaching 6TB.
Meanwhile, the ExpertBook P3 G2 targets budget-conscious professionals and administrators, featuring up to AMD Ryzen 7 processors with dedicated NPUs and similar high-capacity memory and storage configurations. ASUS said the device is designed for AI-assisted workloads, video conferencing, and large file management.
The bigger picture
PC makers have increasingly shifted toward localized AI processing as enterprises raise concerns over cloud dependency, latency, and data privacy. ASUS emphasized that several AI collaboration tools, including AI Meeting Minutes and translated subtitles, operate directly on-device rather than through cloud processing.
The company also highlighted military-grade durability and enterprise security features, including TPM 2.0 encryption, NIST-compliant BIOS protection, and five years of BIOS update support.
The ExpertBook P5 G2 starts at P87,995, while the ExpertBook P3 G2 starts at P69,995 through ASUS Business resellers nationwide. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
