Asia’s longest-running kiteboarding tournament concludes in Boracay

The stunning shores of Boracay Island are gearing up for an electrifying showdown as the Philippine Kiteboarding Association (PKA) Tour marks the grand finale of its 10th season from March 14-16, 2025.

Set against the backdrop of Aqua Boracay, Bulabog Beach, this final leg of Asia’s longest-running kiteboarding tournament will welcome over 80 elite athletes from across the world, including competitors from the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Star-studded lineup of kiteboarding champions

The event will feature a thrilling mix of Foil Racing, Twin-Tip Racing, Freestyle, and Hangtime competitions. 

Among the top contenders is Yo Pudla of Thailand, an eight-time Asian Cup Champion and the reigning IKA Asian Champion in Twin-Tip Racing. He will face off against Stefan Vance of Northern Ireland and other elite riders.

Representing the Philippines is Warner Janoya, a Boracay native and one of the country’s most promising kiteboarders. Known for his impressive performances in Men’s Freestyle and Foil Racing, Janoya is determined to shine on his home turf.

On the women’s side, Triina Trei from Estonia, the defending Season 9 Overall Champion, will battle it out against top female riders from Japan, China, and Australia.

A milestone for kiteboarding in the Olympics

The excitement surrounding the PKA Tour finale is heightened by kite foil racing’s debut at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. 

This milestone has inspired the Philippine Kiteboarding Association to continue growing the sport and developing future Olympic contenders for LA 2028.

Boracay’s consistent winds and crystal-clear waters make it an ideal setting for high-octane action. 

The event will showcase breathtaking tricks and stunts in the Freestyle competition, while the Hangtime category will see athletes defy gravity, attempting to stay airborne the longest.

"This event will not only showcase the incredible talent within the kiteboarding community but also highlight Boracay's commitment to adventure sports and environmental conservation," said Jay Ortiz, president of the Philippine Kiteboarding Association.
