  • The new filling line will be installed at Actron’s Laguna facility
  • Commercial operations are targeted by the end of the second quarter
  • The move aims to meet rising demand for ready-to-drink beverages

Philippine food solutions company Actron Industries Inc. is expanding its co-packing capabilities through a new partnership with Swiss packaging giant SIG, as demand for ready-to-drink beverages and dairy products accelerates in the local market.

Actron said it will install a SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling line at its manufacturing plant in Calamba, Laguna, with commercial production expected to begin by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

The investment marks Actron’s push deeper into flexible aseptic carton packaging, allowing the company to serve beverage and dairy brands looking for faster product launches and more adaptable manufacturing solutions.

The SIG Midi 12 Aseptic will allow Actron to aseptically fill a broad range of products for its customers on a single high-performance system. These include ready-to-drink juices, teas, dairy beverages, cooking creams and all-purpose cream, supporting brand owners seeking greater flexibility and efficiency in their co-packing supply chain. | Contributed photo

Why it matters

The Philippine beverage market has seen growing demand for shelf-stable products including juices, teas, dairy beverages, and cooking creams, pushing manufacturers to seek more efficient co-packing partners.

Once operational, the new filling line will allow Actron to handle multiple beverage categories on a single system while supporting different carton formats and volumes.

The SIG Midi 12 Aseptic system can fill up to 12,000 cartons per hour and supports 500ml, 750ml, and 1,000ml packaging formats with quick changeovers completed within minutes.

SIG said the technology is designed to help manufacturers respond more quickly to shifting consumer preferences without sacrificing production speed.

“This partnership brings our flexible aseptic filling technology closer to the Philippines' dairy and juice industry,” Noer Wellington, commercial director for Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea at SIG, said in a press statement.

“Enabled by our packaging system, Actron can support local manufacturers to respond to evolving consumer preferences with advanced packaging solutions that enable faster innovation and scalable growth,” Wellington added.

Big picture

Actron, which has operated in the Philippines for more than four decades, provides food ingredient trading, manufacturing, and outsourcing services for fast-moving consumer goods companies.

The company said the latest investment strengthens its position in the local co-packing industry as more brands seek scalable manufacturing partners.

“This investment reinforces Actron’s position as a leading co-packing partner in the Philippines,” said Mannito C. Dueñas, EVP for commercial operations at Actron Industries.

“By incorporating SIG’s flexible filling system, we can offer greater scale, agility, and value to brand owners looking to innovate.“ —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
