  • Private sector-led push: Aboitiz Economic Estates and SEIPI drive collaboration to strengthen the Philippines’ semiconductor and electronics (S&E) industry
  • Integrated support ecosystem: LIMA Estate in Batangas offers power, water, construction and housing synergy to global electronics locators
  • Skilled workforce pipeline: Talent Edge program and Batangas State University campus prepare graduates for high-value S&E jobs

At the 2nd SEIPI Linkages Exchange (LinkX), Aboitiz Economic Estates and the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. (SEIPI) showcased how private sector collaboration is powering South Luzon’s S&E industry.

The Philippines, now the world’s 9th largest chip exporter, saw electronics generate $39.09 billion in exports in 2024—over half of total exports.

“SEIPI remains committed to fostering connections across the industry. The Linkages Exchange is a testament to this mission in action, as LinkX provides a dynamic platform for industry leaders to deepen partnerships, broaden market reach, and drive growth within the semiconductor and electronics industry, as well as to related industries,” said Dan Lachica, SEIPI president.

Private sector at the helm

While government reforms such as CREATE MORE and the Philippine Skills Framework aim to attract investment, private initiatives are at the forefront. Aboitiz Economic Estates’ Talent Edge program bridges academe, government, and industry to align skills with employer needs, while the upcoming Batangas State University campus at LIMA Estate will fast-track talent development for high-value S&E roles.

LIMA Estate’s competitive edge

Home to 185 locators and providing livelihoods to 75,000 individuals, the 1,000-hectare LIMA Estate integrates retail, office, residential, and institutional facilities alongside its industrial hub.

“What makes LIMA unique is that it’s not only an industrial hub, but a complete ecosystem,” said Clifford Academia, vice president for operations, Aboitiz Economic Estates.

“It brings together the strengths of the Aboitiz Group in power, water, land, and construction, so businesses can focus on innovation while knowing the essentials are already taken care of.”
