Students from 20 schools across the Philippines, the U.S., U.K., and Canada are participating in this year’s AGSIP. The program aims to help interns build practical skills, discover their personal purpose, and align with Ayala’s core values.
“AGSIP is integral to our commitment to the development of next-generation talent not just for the Ayala Group but for the country,” said Ayala Corp. chief human resources officer Paco Milán. “It provides practical, on-the-job experience while guiding students to identify their own purpose and values.”
The internship began with an onboarding session in June, where students explored Ayala’s history and transformation into one of the Philippines’ largest conglomerates. Participants then toured ACEN’s facility in Alaminos, Laguna, where they planted nearly 500 fast-growing native trees as part of Ayala’s sustainability drive.
Interns attended a masterclass with HR leaders from across the group—including ACEN, Ayala Land Inc., BPI, and Globe—to learn how purpose and values guide corporate strategy. They also received coaching on defining their own values.
In the coming weeks, interns will take part in a hackathon hosted by GCash, AWS, and BPI, using generative AI and no-code AWS tools for creative problem-solving. The program concludes with a masterclass led by four Ayala senior leaders sharing how values shape strategic decision-making. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
