SM, through SM Store’s “Shop and Share a Toy” campaign, recently distributed toys to 6,000 underprivileged children across Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Batangas, the Bicol Region, Cebu, and Zamboanga City.

The initiative underscores the season of giving and brings smiles to thousands of young faces.

This year’s campaign marked a significant milestone, with a 20-percent increase in donations compared to the 5,000 toys distributed last year.

The successful distribution was made possible through partnerships with SM Foundation, World Vision, Good Neighbors Philippines, and Rotary International.

One of the notable outcomes of the campaign was its impact on Special Education (SPED) schools in Zamboanga City. Thanks to the donations, select SPED classrooms were able to recreate their play areas, offering children a joyful and enriching environment to learn and grow.

A 2021 study emphasized the importance of toys and games in children’s development, highlighting their contributions to cognitive, motor, psychosocial, emotional, and linguistic growth.

By providing access to these developmental tools, SM and its partners are not only spreading holiday cheer but also fostering opportunities for holistic growth among children in need.
