PITX expands access to key government services for commuters

Insider Spotlight

  • PITX will host a two-day government services caravan on June 25–26
  • SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund will provide frontline services onsite
  • The initiative aims to reduce travel time and transaction costs for commuters and transport workers

Making government services more accessible through high-traffic transport hubs is becoming an increasingly practical approach to improving public service delivery.

At the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), thousands of daily commuters will be able to access key government transactions in one location, eliminating the need to visit multiple offices.

Beginning June 25, PITX will host the Lingap para sa Kabuhayan Caravan, a two-day initiative that brings together several government agencies to provide frontline services directly to commuters, transport workers, tenants, and nearby residents.

The event reflects broader efforts to expand service accessibility through strategically located community venues.

Why it matters

Transport terminals increasingly serve as more than mobility hubs. By integrating public services into commuter spaces, agencies can reach a larger segment of the population while reducing the time and expense often associated with government transactions.

The details

Participating agencies include the Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund. Services available during the caravan will include member information and system updating, contribution verification, account inquiries, loan application and processing assistance, benefit consultations, and Pag-IBIG ID registration and issuance assistance, among other transactions.

PITX, the country’s first landport, was selected as the venue because of its high daily passenger volume and its role as a central transport gateway connecting provincial and urban commuters.

Operated by MWM Terminals, a subsidiary of Megawide Construction Corp., the facility is designed to integrate transport, retail, and community services in a single location.

What they’re saying

“Through the Lingap para sa Kabuhayan Caravan, PITX continues to provide added value to commuters by making essential government services more accessible and convenient. This initiative helps save time and transportation costs while ensuring that passengers and transport workers can conveniently access the services they need,” MWM Terminals director for corporate affairs and gov’t relations Jason Salvador said in a press statement.
