The highlight of the visit was a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Philippines’ WCC Aeronautical and Technological College and Cambodia’s Overseas Cambodian Investment Corp. (OCIC) to establish WCC AeroTech University in Phnom Penh.
The project is expected to open opportunities for Filipino educators and aviation experts while helping address Cambodia’s aviation skills gap.
Logistics and market expansion
In logistics, Airspeed International Corp. signed a service agreement with Cambodia’s Bright Star Logistics to manage international shipments, outsourced operations, and cross-trade under a profit-sharing model—strengthening supply chain connectivity.
Meanwhile, distilled spirits producer Destileria Limtuaco & Co. inked an agreement with Aus Khmer Import Export Co. Ltd. for the importation and distribution of Filipino spirits in Cambodia, providing export opportunities for Filipino farmers and distillers.
Women empowerment and institutional cooperation
To empower women-led MSMEs, the Women Entrepreneurs’ Network – Women Business Council Philippines (WomenBizPH) and the Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Network (CamWEN) signed an MOU to co-host the ASEAN Amazing Weaves Competition, showcasing regional textile craftsmanship.
Furthering institutional cooperation, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Business Association in Cambodia (PhilCham) and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) agreed to establish a framework for trade promotion, business events, and joint missions.
Government push for opportunities
Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque lauded the agreements, noting their role in creating jobs and empowering Filipino workers.
“These partnerships reflect Bagong Pilipinas in action: turning diplomacy into real opportunities for our people,” she said.
President Marcos echoed the message at the Philippines-Cambodia CEO Roundtable, saying the partnerships would “generate jobs, stimulate investment, encourage innovation, and promote inclusive, sustainable growth.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
