The airport features an array of PWD-friendly amenities that ensure ease and comfort for all passengers.
These amenities include wheelchair assistance, PWD-compliant washrooms, ramp passageways, lifts, reserved seating, and priority boarding for PWDs in both terminals.
Designed in compliance with the Accessibility Law (Batas Pambansa Bilang 344), these facilities meet the standards for vanities, grab bars, and water closet heights.
"Travel should be a privilege, not a burden. That’s why we designed PWD-friendly amenities that cater to PWDs and their families," Athanasios Titonis, CEO of Aboitiz InfraCapital GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp., said in a statement.
Among the airport’s advancements are sliding doors in PWD-friendly restrooms, emergency push buttons, and designated seating areas.
In the same statement, Ricia Montejo, head of customer experience, emphasized the importance of accessibility in airport operations.
"Part of our commitment to safety is ensuring accessible travel for all. We achieve this by complying with global standards and collaborating with the PWD community," Montejo said.
MCIA also engages with PWD groups annually to gather insights on improving the travel experience, demonstrating its commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all travelers.
