The Bitanga family’s PT&T Corp. is undergoing a leadership shake-up as James G. Velasquez steps down as president and CEO after seven years, moving up to become chair of the board.

His transition, which also allows him to focus on operations at SecureLink, the joint venture between PT&T and Netlinkz, comes amid  the resignation of former chair Roberto B. Ortiz.

Angel S. Mercado, senior vice president and chief revenue officer, has been appointed acting president while retaining his current role.

Kristine B. Cuenca has been named treasurer, and Jhonna P. Cañeja will now head investor relations and corporate communications.

Though Velasquez is stepping back from daily operations, he will remain actively involved in steering the company’s long-term direction from the boardroom.
