The donation was made in response to a call for assistance from the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), the country's private-sector coordinator for disaster risk reduction and management.
The equipment was turned over by the portable energy company to key officials from both municipalities at the Malapatan Incident Command Post, where it will be used to support rescue and recovery efforts.
Why it matters
Reliable electricity is often among the first critical services disrupted after major earthquakes, affecting communications, emergency coordination, and medical response.
Jackery said its portable power stations offer an alternative energy source that can be deployed without the fuel requirements and logistical challenges associated with conventional generators.
The donated units are expected to power emergency operations centers, makeshift medical stations, and community charging hubs, while also enhancing long-term disaster preparedness for the two municipalities.
The response
"Having power is very important for our rescue team so we can stay connected, especially during emergencies, so we are very thankful to Jackery and PDRF for this big donation. This will really help our team serve the people of Malapatan, Sarangani better," LGU of Malapatan incident commander Mark Christopher Quiño said in a press statement.
Cognetics Inc. marketing and emerging businesses head Igue Bonifacio said the initiative reflects the company's commitment to ensuring communities have dependable electricity during emergencies.

Jackery said the partnership with PDRF highlights how renewable energy solutions can complement humanitarian response by reducing communities' vulnerability to prolonged power outages and helping build more resilient disaster preparedness systems in the Philippines.
