Globe, the leading mobile operator in the Philippines, deployed 27 new 5G sites nationwide in in the first quarter of the year, enhancing its 5G outdoor coverage to 98.35 percent in Metro Manila and 92.86 percent in key cities in Visayas and Mindanao.
This expansion has enabled Globe to support over six million 5G devices as of March 2024, the telco gaint said in a statement on Thursday.
Despite the growth, Globe has moderated its spending on new 5G sites, focusing on strategic deployment.
Additionally, Globe has expanded its global reach by partnering with 167 operators in 87 destinations.
