Offered in both virtual and physical formats, the luvit card allows users to make installment-based purchases whether shopping online, dining out, booking travel, or paying in stores locally and abroad.
Backed by Mastercard’s global payment network, the card can be used across millions of merchants worldwide, giving consumers greater flexibility in how and where they pay.
The launch comes as digital payments continue to gain traction among Filipinos, many of whom are seeking more accessible alternatives to traditional credit products.
FinVolution, in a statement, said the luvit card is designed to bridge the gap between digital convenience and practical day-to-day use, offering consumers a familiar payment experience paired with flexible repayment options.
Flexible payment access
Users can apply for the luvit card through the company’s mobile app, which offers a simplified application process with minimal requirements and AI-enabled approval that can take as fast as 90 seconds.
The card enables users to borrow from P2,000 to P200,000 and provides up to 40 days of zero-interest payments starting after the billing date. It also carries no annual fees.
According to FinVolution, the card is designed to help users better manage their expenses through installment-based repayments tailored to their financial capacity.
“The luvit card is designed to enable mainstream Filipinos to purchase products on flexible terms,” said Francisco “Coco” Mauricio, president and chief executive officer of WeFund Lending Corp, FinVolution Group’s Philippine subsidiary.
“It gives access to broader digital opportunities. It helps build financial identity and empowers people to participate more fully in the formal financial system,” he added.
Expanding financial inclusion
FinVolution said the launch forms part of broader efforts to expand financial access in the Philippines, particularly among consumers who may be using formal credit services for the first time.
The company said the product addresses a long-standing need for a payment tool that combines flexible repayment terms, affordable interest rates, and fast approval processes.
By offering both digital accessibility and practical everyday usability, luvit aims to encourage more Filipinos to participate in the growing digital economy. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
