The rebranding marks a major milestone for the company, which was acquired by the Consunji group through DMCI Holdings, Inc. on Dec. 2, 2024. Under the leadership of diversified engineering conglomerate DMCI, the newly named Concreat Holdings signals a renewed focus on integrity, reliability, resilience, and nation-building—values long associated with the Consunji legacy.
The name Concreat (pronounced "concrete") blends the “Consunji” name with “create,” embodying the company’s new vision of building a stronger future under Filipino ownership and management.
“This rebranding represents a bold new direction under DMCI management, guided by an all-Filipino team deeply rooted in local insight and long-term stewardship,” Concreat Holdings Philippines president and CEO Herbert M. Consunji said in a statement.
“While challenges remain, DMCI has a strong track record of navigating industry cycles with discipline and determination. We are especially grateful to the previous management of Cemex Philippines for laying the groundwork we now proudly build upon," he added.
Concreat Holdings will continue to operate its Solid Cement Plant in Antipolo City and the Apo Cement Plant in the City of Naga, Cebu. Its well-established product brands—Rizal, Island, and APO—will remain part of the company's portfolio, ensuring continuity and reinforcing customer trust.
“Concreat symbolizes a blend of concrete strength and shared vision,” Consunji said. “It brings together Cemex Philippines’ national footprint and DMCI’s broad capabilities across construction, real estate, energy, mining, and water services. Our integration goes beyond operations—it is built on shared values and a collective commitment to nation-building.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
