The improved facilities—Candijay Primary Care Facility, Dimiao Primary Care Facility, Mabini Primary Care Facility, Cortes Primary Care Facility, and Duero Rural Health Unit—were upgraded with extensive renovations inside and out, creating a more comfortable and healing environment for both patients and healthcare workers.
The project was carried out in partnership with local government leaders and municipal health officers, ensuring the enhancements addressed the specific needs of the community.
“We hope that this humble contribution of BDO Foundation to the communities will help the local government units and health workers improve their capability in delivering basic health services to their constituents,” said Mario Deriquito, president of BDO Foundation.
The foundation has been spearheading the rehabilitation of RHUs nationwide since 2012, aiming to enhance primary healthcare at the grassroots level.
In Bohol alone, BDO Foundation has renovated 23 RHUs, with a nationwide total of 187 rehabilitated facilities.
Dimiao municipal health officer Dr. Lloyd Lyle Ravidas expressed his gratitude during the turnover ceremony, stating, “You have not just given us a beautiful building, but also a dignified health facility to better serve the people.”
