The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is launching the inaugural 2026 BCDA Ecozones Color Run Fest, a four-leg race series designed to combine sports, tourism, and community engagement while showcasing the country's emerging investment and lifestyle destinations.

Organized with Smoke10 Events Management, the race series supports BCDA's efforts to make its economic zones more accessible to the public by encouraging active lifestyles and highlighting their transformation into communities where people can live, work, invest, and thrive.

The big picture

The series opens on July 18 at Morong Discovery Park in Bataan, followed by Camp John Hay in Baguio on Aug. 8, Poro Point Freeport Zone in La Union on Oct. 24, and will conclude at New Clark City in Tarlac on Dec. 5.

Each event is designed to give participants a firsthand look at BCDA developments beyond their role as economic hubs, showcasing natural landscapes, recreational facilities, and local attractions.

"Our ecozones are designed to be places where people can work, invest, compete, and enjoy life. Through the BCDA Ecozones Color Run Fest, we are opening these destinations to more Filipinos and inviting them to experience the vibrant communities we are building," Bases Conversion and Development Authority president and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said.

"The race series reflects our vision of creating economic zones that support not only economic growth but also healthier, more active, and more connected communities. By bringing people into our destinations, we hope they discover firsthand the opportunities and quality of life these places offer," Bingcang said.

Why it matters

BCDA said in a statement that the initiative aligns with its broader strategy of transforming its developments into destinations that integrate economic activity with tourism, recreation, and community life.

The agency said programs such as the Color Run Fest help make its world-class economic zones more inclusive and meaningful by encouraging greater public participation and awareness.
