After banner year: Chinabank sets record with historic-high P5.9 billion dividends

The Sy family’s China Banking Corp. declared record dividends for 2024, consisting of a regular cash dividend of P1.20 per share and an additional P1.00 per share special cash dividend, payable on May 16, 2024, to shareholders registered as of May 3.

ChinaBank chair Hans Sy (from corp website)

This year’s total payout of P5.9 billion represents a 16 percent increase over the previous year and constitutes 27 percent of Chinabank's P22 billion net income from 2023.

The dividends yield a substantial return of 6 percent, based on the April 17, 2024, closing stock price of P36.75.

This commitment to shareholder returns is consistent with Chinabank’s strategy of rewarding investors while fostering the bank's ongoing growth.
