Insider Spotlight

  • AI governance is becoming an operational issue as enterprises move agents from experimentation into production
  • Rimini Street targets fragmented oversight, including “shadow AI,” inconsistent controls and limited visibility into agent costs and returns
  • The company bets on managed governance rather than leaving businesses to assemble monitoring, security and compliance tools themselves

Enterprises racing to deploy autonomous AI agents face a widening management problem: keeping track of what agents are doing, what they cost and whether they remain within security and compliance guardrails as adoption scales.

Rimini Street made available Rimini Govern for AI, a managed service designed to provide centralized governance, security, monitoring and performance measurement for AI agents across enterprise systems. The service is delivered around the clock through the company’s Global Command Centers.

Why it matters

The company is positioning the offering against what it calls an enterprise AI “control gap” emerging as organizations shift from pilots toward production deployments.

Businesses can struggle with fragmented monitoring, inconsistent governance among business units and “shadow AI,” while lacking enterprise-wide measurements of agent performance, costs and return on investment.

Rimini Street cited Gartner's prediction that 40 percent of enterprises will demote or decommission autonomous AI agents by 2027 because of governance gaps discovered after production incidents.

How it works

Rimini Govern for AI monitors agent activity, workflows, security events, compliance, performance and costs. It is also designed to enforce governance guardrails, restrict agents to authorized activities and enable intervention by Rimini Street engineers.

Deployment follows three phases: planning and readiness assessment; implementation, including discovery of agents and configuration of secure access; and continuous operations.

“With Rimini Govern for AI, organizations can now confidently and securely deploy AI agents and scale AI agent operations with the oversight, control, visibility and measurement needed to accelerate adoption, measure ROI and achieve business outcomes that include reduced total operating costs, improved profitability and enhanced competitive advantage,” Rimini Street CEO Seth Ravin said in a statement.

The bigger picture

The service expands Rimini Street’s push beyond traditional enterprise software support into Agentic AI operations.

It sits alongside Rimini Agentworks, which covers AI agent development and production readiness, and Rimini Agentic UX, an AI-driven engagement layer for existing ERP environments.

The broader strategy gives Rimini Street a way to apply its managed-service model to an emerging problem for enterprises: operating AI agents with controls comparable to those governing other mission-critical technology. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
